Fluctuations in currencies could benefit Middle East, savings account holders told

People living in Middle Eastern countries who retain savings accounts in the UK may wish to transfer some money back home given the current economic climate.

According to Maktoob Business, exchange rates have meant that salaries in this part of the world will have jumped by up to ten per cent this year.

The changes were attributed to the Greek monetary crisis and developments in UK parliament.

Pradeep Unni, a spokesperson for Dubai’s Richcomm Global Services, said that further uncertainty is likely.

"The markets will be volatile. There will be enough hiccups on the way that can cause further decline [in the value of the euro and the pound]," he added.

However, Mr Unni advised people seeking to benefit from the exchange rates to transfer money to the UK soon in case of fluctuations later this summer

It was revealed today (May 17th 2010) that the euro has fallen to a four-year low against the dollar.

Hiring in US receives boost, savings account holders informed

Savings account holders have received positive news about the employment market in the US, which may benefit anyone emigrating there in the near future.

It was announced this week by the country’s Labor Department that private sector business increased hiring by 4.8 per cent, the highest increase in 14 months.

Meanwhile, the total number of people taken on for new jobs was 4.24 million, the largest number since January 2009.

It was also found that workers are now more willing to quit the jobs they have, as confidence has increased regarding ability to find new vacancies.

In March 2010, gross hiring exceeded projected figures by 226,000.

This comes after it was revealed by the Commerce Department that imports are still exceeding exports in the US, a sign that consumer demand is increasing following the global economic downturn.

The trade deficit increased to $40.4 billion in March, a rise of 2.5 per cent.

New Zealand could offer positive quality of life, savings account holders told

Online savings account holders may be interested to hear that New Zealand could be a good place to relocate to, as its economy is currently in a very positive state.

According to Shelter Offshore, the country is now out of recession and is experiencing "unprecedented" demand for workers, which the website said "bodes well" for anyone hoping to emigrate there.

"It’s a country that mainly allocates residency visas to in-demand skilled workers from abroad," the website pointed out.

Furthermore, there is likely to be a relatively good choice of affordable housing outside the towns and cities, although Shelter Offshore urges anyone buying to ensure there is adequate insulation to cope with the cold winters.

Finally, the advice portal cites figures from Bloomberg which show that unemployment is now at only six per cent in New Zealand, below the expected level of 7.3 per cent.

Earlier this month, Quotable Value reported that New Zealand’s house prices have increased by 6.1 per cent since last year.
