Dell Inc. (NASDAQ:DELL) disclosed that it is in talks with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to resolve certain accounting inconsistencies that were discovered by the SEC for periods going back to 2005. Following the US moratorium on offshore drilling due to oil spill, Petrobras (NYSE:PBR) could benefit from the US Gulf of Mexico (GoM) rigs. Since the upstream players are closing down deepwater GoM drilling activity for the time being, rig operators are looking at a better place to work with.

Motorola Inc. (NYSE:MOT) and Research In Motion Ltd. (NASDAQ:RIMM), the two global giants in the mobile phone market, reached an agreement to settle a patent dispute over mobile technology.
