Cyprus ‘offers top international property prospect’

Cyprus offers one of the best international property prospects around, a member of the country’s government has remarked.

Interior minister Neoclis Sylikiotis was quoted by the Financial Mirror saying: "property investment is much safer in Cyprus than anywhere else”.

He added that although the island’s neighbours are struggling and the world economy is in recession, "the estate market in Cyprus is quite healthy and still in positive growth rate.”

Mr Sylikiotis made his comments in response to what he perceived was unduly negative coverage of issues of regulation in the property industry.

He stated that the market is "stable and secure" now, while noting that new legislation is in progress to tighten up rules on planning and registration further.

Last month, the Cypriot state statistical service produced a report suggesting the country stood out above all other European Union nations as a property investment destination.

It based this claim on the fact that Cyprus is the only one of the 27 members not to be in recession, with growth of 1.2 per cent in the 12 months to the end of the first quarter of 2009.

The Holy Grail Of Commodity Markets & Forex Markets

After being in the field since 1994 and working with many investors and traders it has become very clear to me what is the HOLY GRAIL in the Commodity Markets & Forex Markets. The whole basis of trading with CNBC, Bloomberg and others is based on trying to have an edge of information or finding some magic system or trading signals. A well folk, the Holy Grail does not exist that way (in this context). No one knows more than you. Even with all their analysis there is no magic system, … [visit site to read more]

US Dollar Strengthens As Data Refutes Recovery

A slump in the Chinese stock market overnight and an abrupt end to a string of government and corporate orders for durable goods helped turn sentiment sour on Wall Street and boosted demand for the dollar. The euro has fallen through $1.41for the first time in at least 10 days, while the dollar is also gaining against that other supposed safe haven, the Japanese yen at ¥94.84. While the Wall Street Journal and New York Times are busy trumpeting a potential end to the housing market gloom, … [visit site to read more]

Finally Finding a Bottom… At Least In Something

Around my circle of friends, I’m known as “Mr. Fixit” – of course, when your house is 200 years old, you almost have to be.

Fortunately for me, taking things apart and putting them back together again – in working order, of course – is something that comes naturally to me. Most of the time, I have the tool or tools to handle the job. If not, I’ll either buy it or rent it, depending on the likelihood of my ever needing it again.

Call Volume Spikes In SPXU

Since my discussion of SPXU of seems to have generated considerable interest in the SPX pair of triple ETFs (SPXU is the -3x ETF and UPRO is the +3x ETF), I thought this morning’s surge in call activity in SPXU should be noted.

As the chart below from WhatsTrading.com shows, the 20,000+ calls traded in SPXU during the first two hours of trading suggests some large bets on the SPX are now making their way into the triple ETF options arena. This should come as no surprise, as my recent … [visit site to read more]
